Schroeder sworn in as associate judge in Madison County

Neil Schroeder was sworn in as Madison County Associate Judge on Friday.

Schroeder, 46, has worked as a prosecutor in the Madison County State's Attorney's ffice for 20 years and also worked as a prosecutor in Montgomery County for four years.

Schroeder replaces Kyle Napp who was elected to the circuit bench in November. She had served in the court’s Felony Division.

Schroeder will preside over area court dockets in Collinsville on Tuesday, Granite City on Thursday and Alton on Friday. Schroeder will hear family matters on Monday and Wednesday and other cases assigned to him by Chief Judge Ann Callis, according to a Feb. 21 order from the chief judge's office.

Schroeder received his undergraduate degree in mathematics in 1989 from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and his law degree in 1993 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

He is originally from Granite City and currently lives in Edwardsville.

He is a member of Illinois State Bar Association, the Madison County Bar Association and the Sons of the American Revolution.
