29 apply for associate judge in St. Clair County

Twenty-nine candidates have applied to be associate circuit judge in St. Clair County.

Three associate seats opened with the elections of Zina R. Cruse, Andrew J. Gleeson and Vincent J. Lopinot in November's general election.

Applicants include:

- Belleville attorney Ronald Duebbert, who ran for circuit judge in November, 2012 against Lopinot;

- William G. Clay IV, assistant state’s attorney and husband of St. Clair County Circuit Clerk Kahalah Clay;

- Jeanne L. Aubuchon, attorney at Cannady & Aubuchon, Belleville;

- Brendan Nester, attorney at Donovan, Rose Nester, Belleville;

- Thomas Cannady, attorney at Cannady & Katz in Belleville;

- Julia R. Gomric, attorney at O'Gara & Gomric, Belleville;

- Robert Jones, attorney, the Jones Law Firm, Belleville;

- Christopher Kolker, attorney, Kolker Law Offices, Belleville;

- Matthew Marlen, Law Office of Matthew Marlen, Belleville;

- Joseph Christ, attorney, St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office;

- Kevin Kaufhold, attorney, Kaufhold & Associates, Belleville;

- Patricia Kievlan, attorney, Pessin, Baird & Wells;

- Elaine LeChien, Law Office of LeChien & LeChien;

- Carmen Durso, attorney, Carmen S. Durso Law Offices, Belleville;

- Joan Keltner, Fifth Appellate Justice Goldenhersh Law Clerk;

- Philip Rice, Rice Law Offices, Belleville;

- Gary Bement, attorney, Bement & Stubblefield, Belleville;

- Cathleen MacElroy, St. Clair County Public Defender's Office; and

- David Schneidewind, attorney Boyle, Brasher, Belleville.

Bernard Dowling, Samantha Kerth, Richard Schaefer, Grady Skaggs, Laura Beasley, William Hanks, Christie Schmieder, Levander “Van” Smith, Jr., and Benard Kloess also applied.
