Two bouncers at a St. Clair County bar left a man with serious injuries after they threw him against a wall, according to recently filed court documents.
Anthony Simms Jr. filed a lawsuit Nov. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Smeez Inc. doing business as Big Daddy’s, Ardell K. Adams and Rich Uhlon.
In his complaint, Simms alleges he was visiting Big Daddy’s on Aug. 19 when he was escorted outside because of an altercation inside the establishment.
“Defendants Ardell Adams and Rich Uhlon were all acting within the scope and course of their employment when they began to use violent, physical force upon Plaintiff forcefully throwing him against a brick wall located across the alley behind Big Daddy’s and kicking him,” the suit states.
Because of the attack, Simms experienced pain and suffering and incurred medical costs, the complaint says.
In addition to Adams and Uhlon, Simms names Big Daddy’s as a defendant, saying it is liable for the actions of its employees.
In his complaint, Simms seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs, expenses and other relief the court deems just.
Andrew G. Toennies of Lashly and Baer in St. Louis will be representing him.
