A Belleville man has filed suit against the driver who he claims struck his vehicle head on.
Emilio Ruizsoriano claims he was driving east on Illinois Route 158/177 east of Brookhaven Drive in Shiloh Valley Township on Oct. 6, 2010, when defendant Heather A. McCracken, who was driving west on the same road, attempted to pass a vehicle in front of her in a no passing zone. In turn, she struck Ruizsoriano, according to the complaint filed Sept. 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the collision, Ruizsoriano incurred medical costs, lost income, pain and lost his normal life, the suit states.
McCracken negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout and attempted to pass in a no passing zone, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Ruizsoriano is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
