A woman has filed suit against the bowling alley where she claims she fell when her foot stuck on a substance on the alley, causing her to fall forward.
Heidi Stupperich filed a lawsuit Sept. 21 in Madison County Circuit Court against Nubowl Lanes.
In her complaint, Stupperich claims she was walking at the bowling alley when her foot encountered a sticky substance. In turn, she fell forward and onto her right knee, according to the complaint.
Because of her fall, Stupperich sustained injuries to her right knee, suffered pain of her body and mind and incurred medical costs, the suit states.
Nubowl Lanes negligently failed to maintain the lanes in a safe condition, failed to keep the lanes free of a foreign substance, allowed the substance to remain on the lanes, failed to warn of the dangerous substance and failed to maintain the texture of the bowling approaches, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Stupperich is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Samuel A. Mormino Jr. of Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds and Snider in Alton will be representing her.
