A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her vehicle as she attempted to stop for a pedestrian.

Diane A. Tramutolo claims she was driving east on East Main Street in Collinsville on Feb. 18, 2010, when she stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the street. Suddenly, defendant Gregory L. Craft, who was driving near her, struck her vehicle, according to the complaint filed Feb. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Because of the collision, Tramutolo sustained injuries to her limbs, back, neck, spine and head and became sick, lame and disabled, the suit states. In addition, she suffered severe pain and mental anguish and incurred medical costs, the complaint says.

Tramutolo blames Craft for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, drove too fast and failed to reduce his speed.

In her complaint, Tramutolo is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

She will be represented by James K. Keefe Jr. of Keefe and DePauli in Fairview Heights.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-200.
