Juneau Associates has filed a motion to dismiss a Madison County lawsuit claiming the plaintiff did not file a claim sufficient to form a valid lawsuit.
Juneau Associates, a road designer, filed the motion Dec. 16.
Young S. Choe, owner of an alteration business in Granite City, filed suit against the city and a construction company she claims caused her to lose business and sustain cracks to her building.
She also named Juneau Associates, saying it designed a road to be built in a way that caused her to lose business.
In her three-count complaint, Choe is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
She is represented by Bill T. Walker of Granite City and James E. Parrot of St. Louis.
Lawrence B. Grebel and Ray Alexander are the attorneys for Juneau Associates.
The case is assigned to Madison County Circuit Judge Ann Callis.
