The owner of a Belleville property alleges its tenant failed to honor a lease agreement, causing the owner to lose out on more than $70,000.
Noble Vollmer Realty claims it leased premises in Belleville to defendant Ulice Jordan doing business as Mid America Mortgage beginning on Jan. 30, 2007. As part of the lease agreement, Mid America consented to pay $16,632 per year, or $1,386 per month, according to the complaint filed Nov. 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Although Noble Vollmer Realty sent monthly invoices to Jordan seeking rental payments, it has not received any money, the suit states.
"As a result, Plaintiff has been damaged by the defendant's nonpayment, damages are in the amount of $73,202.40," the complaint says.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, Noble Vollmer Realty is seeking costs and attorney's fees.
It will be represented by Blake G. Meinders of Belleville.
A lawsuit filed by US Bank against Ulice Jordan in 2007, claimed Jordan failed to make payments on a loan for a 2005 Mercedes-Benz.
