An Alton woman is suing the driver of the car that allegedly rear-ended her while driving in Godfrey.

Maria A. Day filed a lawsuit against Bonnie J. Rose Aug. 29 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Day says she was driving west on the Homer Adams Parkway in September 2009 when she was hit from behind by Rose. Day claims the impact of the collision caused serious injuries to her neck and back.

The Alton woman accuses Day of negligence for allegedly causing the crash. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and lost wages in addition to court costs.

Attorney Bob L. Perica of Wood River's Perica Law Firm is representing Day.

Madison County Circuit Court Case No.11-L-860.
