A resident of a Madison County nursing home is suing the facility she says failed to help her move from a wheelchair to her bed.
Sharon A. Moore filed the complaint Sept. 8 in Madison County Circuit Court against SA-ENC Park Haven LLC, doing business as Park Haven Care Center.
Moore was a living at the Park Haven Care Center in October 2008 and says she fell while trying to move from her wheelchair to the bed. Moore says she was seriously hurt in the fall and contends the lack of equipment and lack of assistance from nursing home staff are to blame.
Moore accuses Park Haven of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs.
