Two more asbestos lawsuits have been added to the growing list of cases in St. Clair County's asbestos docket.

Anne Dittmeier of Kentucky and William and Tarilan Donohoe will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Erik Karst and Matthew J. Wright of Karst and von Oiste will serve of counsel in Dittmeier's case. The Donohoes do not specify where they reside.

In her complaint filed July 29, Dittmeier alleges 29 defendant companies caused her recently deceased relative, Andrew Dittmeier, to develop lung cancer after his exposure to asbestos-containing products throughout his career.

In their complaint filed Aug. 5, the Donohoes allege 26 defendant companies caused William Donohoe to develop lung cancer following his exposure to asbestos-containing products.

Andrew Dittmeier worked as a bricklayer from 1956 until 1994, according to the complaint.

William Donohoe worked as a laborer for an independent contractor in Florida from 1972 until 1974 and as a laborer at Atlantic Boat Building from 1975 until 1977, the suit states.

The defendants should have known of the harmful effects of asbestos, but failed to exercise reasonable care and caution for Andrew Dittmeier's and William Donohoe's safety, the suits state.

As a result of their asbestos-related diseases, Andrew Dittmeier and William Donohoe became disabled and disfigured, incurred medical costs and suffered great physical pain and mental anguish, the complaints say. In addition, they became prevented from pursuing their normal course of employment and, as a result, lost large sums of money that would have accrued to them, the plaintiffs claim.

In her nine-count complaint, Anne Dittmeier is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus economic damages of more than $100,000, punitive and exemplary damages of more than $250,000 and compensatory damages of more than $50,000.

In their six-count complaint, the Donohoes are seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, compensatory damages of more than $50,000 and punitive and exemplary damages of more than $100,000
