A woman seeks more than $600,000 from a jewelry store, claiming she should never have been banned from the St. Clair Square mall after police accused her of scam and theft.
Tonyers N. Boyd filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court against J.C.'s Jewelry Repair.
In her complaint, Boyd says her attempts to sell an Infinite butterfly ring at J.C.'s Jewelry Repair were thwarted when police came to the scene on June 9 at 4:30 p.m. and banned her from the mall for alleged scam and theft.
Before kicking Boyd from the mall, police pushed her to the ground in front of Sunny Shades, according to the complaint.
Boyd claims she paid for the jewelry she was selling and did not deserve such treatment.
Boyd will be appearing pro se.
