Citibank claims a Belleville man failed to repay it more than $100,000 after it issued him a promissory note.

Citibank filed a lawsuit April 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Roy H. Palmer Jr.

Citibank claims it agreed to loan Palmer $125,300 on May 19, 2007. In return, Palmer would repay the money, plus 9.75 percent in interest, according to the complaint.

However, Palmer has since ceased making payments and owes Citibank $118,522.67, the suit states.

In addition to the money it says Palmer owes it, Citibank seeks costs.

Blatt, Hasenmiller, Leibsker and Moore in Normal will be representing it.
