A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims rear-ended him at an intersection.
John P. Welzbacher claims he was riding in a vehicle William C. Chaney was driving at the intersection of Illinois 159 and South Belt in Belleville on April 27, 2009, when defendant Deandre Michael Robinson rear-ended the vehicle.
Because of the collision, Welzbacher suffered pain, lost his normal life, incurred medical costs and lost income, according to the complaint filed April 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Robinson negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast and failed to stop to avoid a collision, the suit states.
In his complaint, Welzbacher is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield and Rosenstengel in Belleville.
