Allied Waste and driver sued over accident that resulted in death week later

The administrator of a deceased man's estate has filed suit against the garbage company that he claims caused the man's death after striking him.

Kristopher DeLisle claims William DeLisle was driving on Collinsville Road in St. Clair County on April 7, 2009, when he was struck by an Allied Waste truck defendant William Ramsey was driving.

According to the complaint filed April 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, William DeLisle sustained multiple severe injuries during the collision and died on April 19, 2009.

Because of the collision and William DeLisle's death, Kristopher DeLisle lost William DeLisle's companionship and society, the suit states.

Kristopher DeLisle blames Ramsey for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, allowed his vehicle to collide with William DeLisle's, failed to control his vehicle and drove in an improper and careless manner.

In addition to Ramsey, Kristopher DeLisle names Allied Waste Transportation, Allied Waste North America and Republic Services as defendants.

In his five-count complaint, Kristopher DeLisle is seeking a judgment of more than $500,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

He will be represented by George Albers of Collinsville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-174.
