County board member's personal injury suit moved to October

An October status conference has been set in a personal injury suit filed by a St. Clair County board member.

County Board Member Kenneth Sharkey alleges that he was injured when defendant Elaine Schuessler allegedly crashed into his car head-on on March 15, 2010.

Schuessler has yet to file an answer in the suit.

St. Clair County Associate Judge Andrew Gleeson signed an order April 4 that reset the suit's status conference to 9 a.m. on Oct. 17.

Sharkey, who represents parts of Fairview Heights and Caseyville Township, is seeking damages in excess of $75,000 and other relief.

Sharkey alleges that while driving in Shiloh on the night of the accident, Schuessler's vehicle crossed the center lane and hit him head-on.

He claims that the defendant failed to keep a look out and failed to control her own
vehicle.

Thomas Keefe III represents Sharkey.

There is no attorney listed for the defendant to date.

The case is St. Clair case number 10-L-528.
