A Belleville woman has brought her fight against a nursing home to court, saying the home refuses to provide her treatment for abdominal pain.
Katherine Mueller filed a lawsuit Jan. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Eldercare Inc. doing business as Calvin Johnson Care Center.
Mueller, who began living at Calvin Johnson Care Center after Medicare started providing payments to the center, claims the home refuses to treat her severe pain.
"The defendant negligently and carelessly failed to transport plaintiff to the hospital for an emergency visit after plaintiff requested same complaining of abdominal pain," the suit states. "The defendant negligently and carelessly failed to advise plaintiff's treating physician of her severe and continuing abdominal pain."
In her complaint, Mueller seeks a judgment of more than $50,000,
plus costs.
