A 14 year-old boy from Florissant, Mo. has been charged with a class three felony for making a false bomb threat and disorderly conduct after causing the evacuation of the Madison County Criminal Justice Center in Edwardsville yesterday.

The name of the boy is not being released.

The Madison County State's attorney charged the boy Tuesday afternoon.

He was taken into custody by the Madison County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday.

The bomb threat was discovered yesterday at about 2 p.m. by court security personnel, according to Captain Brad Wells, chief of detectives with the sheriff's office.

The threat was contained in a note specifying Monday's date and a 3 p.m. detonation time.

The criminal justice center was evacuated.

The sheriff's office searched the building using a canine unit from the Alton Police Department.

The threat was found to be false.

According to the state's attorney's office, the boy was at the center for a family member's court appearance.

He is being held at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Home at present.
