Driver ignored stop sign on Bluff Road, suit claims

A Madison County woman says she was hurt when another driver failed to obey a stop sign and crashed into her.

Milissa Bell filed a lawsuit against Katrina Slayton Nov. 15 in Madison County Circuit Court. Bell says Slayton was negligent and should pay her medical expenses.

Bell says she was driving east on St. Louis Road in Collinsville at the same time Slayton was driving north on Bluff Road. Slayton allegedly ignored the stop sign at the intersection of Bluff and St. Louis Road and crashed into Bell's vehicle.

Bell contends she had the right-of-way because there was no stop sign for eastbound traffic.

Bell is asking for more than $50,000 in damages. She is represented by attorney Michael J. Brunton, of Collinsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case no. 10-L-1158.
