A man says he was injured when a Belleville man collided with his vehicle after running a stop sign.

Edward Brown filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Aoythip Alba of Belleville.

Brown claims he was driving west on Richland Prarie Boulevard near the intersection of Ganim Drive when a vehicle operated by Alba collided with his car. Brown says Alba was driving north on Ganim Drive and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Richland Prarie and Ganim.

Brown's suit claims Alba was negligent in carelessly operating his vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to keep a proper lookout and did not sound his horn to warn other drivers. Brown also blames Alba for failing to obey a stop sign and not controlling his car to avoid a collision.

Brown says he suffered injuries to his neck, back and left arm. He claims pain, suffering and mental anguish, and says he incurred significant medical costs and lost wages.

In his complaint, Brown seeks damages of more than $50,000 plus costs.

Shaun Falvey of Brown & Crouppen will be representing him

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-572.
