A case management conference is set in a woman's suit against her former doctor over a delayed MRI test and hospital admission.

Plaintiff Nancy Becher is suing Dr. Peter Malench for damages in excess of $50,000 for what she claims was medical negligence that led to a worsening of a spinal condition.

The case management conference is set at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.

Malench's co-defendant Dr. Christopher Heffner was dropped from the case Oct. 22 when an order signed by Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla terminated his standing as respondent in discovery in the suit.

Becher claims in her suit filed earlier this year that Malench ordered an MRI in October 2009 with the diagnosis of cauda equine syndrome in her lumbar spine.

The plaintiff then contends that Malench did not admit her to the hospital in a timely fashion, failed to order the MRI speedily, and failed to treat her condition in a timely manner.

As a result, the plaintiff claims her injuries got worse.

Matthew Dudley represents Becher.

Timothy Richards represents Malench.

The case is Madison case number 10-L-493.
