A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims rear-ended his vehicle.

Fred Thompson claims he was driving east on Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis on Nov. 14, 2008, when defendant Kendra Raymond, who was driving in the same direction, rear-ended him.

Because of the collision, Thompson suffered severe and permanent injuries, was prevented from attending to his usual duties and suffered great pain and anguish, according to the complaint filed Oct. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Raymond negligently failed to stop her vehicle at the sign of danger, failed to maintain proper control, drove too fast and drove without keeping a proper lookout, the suit states.

In his complaint, Thompson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
