An Alton woman is suing the driver she says crashed into her, causing her to be seriously hurt.

Kristen Vandygriff filed the lawsuit against Rex Tandy Oct. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Vandygriff says the crash happened on Washington Avenue in Alton in November 2008. She says she was driving north. As she approached the intersection with Moore Street, Vandygriff says Tandy tried to turn south out of Casey's General Store and onto Washington Avenue.

That's when Tandy allegedly hit the front of Vandygriff's car. The crash allegeldy caused Vandygriff to hurt her neck, shoulder and back.

Vandygriff is suing for negligence and asking for $50,000 for medical costs, lost wages and court fees. She is represented by attorneys Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey of Fairview Heights.
