Legal misrepresentation case set for CMC next week

Matoesian

A man's suit against his former attorneys in a worker's compensation claim over alleged legal misrepresentation is set for case management next week.

The case management conference in plaintiff Ronald Dahl Jr.'s case is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 29.

Dahl Jr. is suing attorney Christopher Kuehnlein and the law firm of Kuehnlein and Kuehnlein alleging the defendants botched the outcomes of two related workers' compensation cases.

A trial set earlier this year was continued, and discovery continues.

In his suit, Dahl Jr. claims that the defendants did not consolidate two work comp claims that were related.

As a result, Dahl Jr. settled at least one of those claims in 2008.

That claim, filed against Sears, netted Dahl Jr. just over $3,000.

Dahl Jr. claims that due to his attorney's negligence, he lost on out combining the two claims and reaping a larger settlement.

The suit at hand seeks damages in excess of $50,000 and costs.

The defendants deny Dahl Jr.'s claims.

Dahl is represented by Michael Brunton of Collinsville.

The defendants are represented by Robert Wuller of Belleville.

Madison County Circuit Judge Andreas Matoesian presides.

The case is Madison case number 08-L-374.
