Quik Trip worker sues driver who plowed through store window

A man claims he sustained permanent injuries after a driver plowed through the front entrance of a Quik Trip in Granite City.

Andrew S. Walsh filed a lawsuit Sept. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Samantha Anne Barzoff.

Walsh claims he was cleaning the front windows of the store located at 3128 Nameoki Rd. on April 3, 2009, when Barzoff lost control of her vehicle and plowed through the store's entrance.

In addition to his injuries, Walsh incurred medical costs and became prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs, according to the complaint.

Walsh blames Barzoff for causing the incident, saying she drove too fast, failed to exercise proper control of her vehicle and failed to properly brake.

In his complaint, Walsh seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Lanny Darr of Schrempf, Kelly, Napp and Darr in Alton will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-919.
