A woman claims she sustained injuries to her neck, back and shoulders after a driver rear-ended her.
Rhonda Borutta filed a lawsuit June 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kevin R. Clark Jr.
Borutta claims she drove north on North 48th Street in Belleville on May 28, 2009, when Clark, who drove directly behind her, failed to stop as Borutta slowed for traffic in front of her. As a result, Clark struck the rear of Borutta's vehicle, according to the complaint.
In addition to her injuries, Borutta incurred medical costs because of the collision.
She blames Clark for causing the accident, saying he negligently failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast and followed her vehicle too closely.
Borutta seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
