Case management conference set in Rick Jones' Wood River suit

Hylla

A case management conference is set in a former real estate developer's suit against Wood River.

Rick Jones, the former developer who is currently serving time for tax evasion in federal prison, is suing the city for allegedly failing to live up to its end of a contract over the building of infrastructure at a water tower site.

The city has attempted to have Jones' suit dismissed.

The conference is set for May 26 at 9:30 a.m. before Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla.

Jones is suing the city for at least $50,000 in damages for breach of contract.

His ex-wife, Dorothy Jones, has been added to the suit as a defendant as well.

Rick Jones recently won a default judgment in a separate breach of contract suit against real estate purchaser Melissa Tucker. That suit was filed within days of the Wood River lawsuit.

A damages hearing in the Tucker case is set in June before Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis.

Jones is represented by Robert Bassett.

No attorney is listed for Dorothy Jones.

Daniel Nester represents Wood River.

The case is Madison case number 09-L-641.
