Triad Industries business manager sentenced to five months in prison

Former Triad Industries business manager Jeffrey Heintz, 56, of Godfrey was sentenced to five months in prison in federal court today.

Heintz had pleaded guilty to tax evasion last October.

He also was sentenced to seven months of home confinement, 300 hours of community service. Heintz was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment, and a fine of $30,000.

His sentencing took place at the East St. Louis federal courthouse.

Heintz also was ordered to pay restitution to the IRS in the amount of $49,451.

The violations occurred during the 2003 and 2004 tax years.

Heintz had been business manager for Ricki Lee Jones's company Triad Industries, which had a contract with BP Amoco to clean up Wood River refinery property.

Jones pleaded guilty in January 2009 to evading income taxes in 2003. He also admitted to cheating BP Amoco North America.

Jones was sentenced to 15 months in prison on last July. He reported to prison in October.

Jones is serving his sentence at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., a medium security facility housing male inmates.
