Woman claims infant suffered mental impairment in breach delivery

A woman is blaming her son's mental impairment on a doctor at OB GYN Care, saying he should not have delivered her breached son vaginally.

Crystal M. Williams filed a lawsuit Oct. 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Bradley J. Tissier and his employer, OB GYN Care.

Williams claims she was under Tissier's care for the delivery of twins when Tissier attempted to deliver one of the twins vaginally, even though he was breached.

As a result, Williams' son, Jerrin K. Williams, is mentally impaired and under a legal disability, according to the complaint.

Because of the delivery, Williams incurred medical costs and experienced pain, suffering, loss of a normal life, disfigurement and an increased risk of future injury, the suit states.

In the two-count suit, Williams is seeking an unspecified judgment.

Robert F. Geimer of the law office of Patrick J. Kenneally in Chicago will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-526.
