A man has sued for injuries he says he sustained during an accident.
Mark Hanneken filed a lawsuit Sept. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against Ian Ruyle.
Hanneken claims he was driving north on U.S. 67 in Alton on Aug. 14, 2008, when Ruyle, who was also driving north, hit him.
Because of the accident, Hanneken suffered injuries to his neck, back and body; was hindered from attending to his usual duties and affairs; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. In addition, he lost large sums of money.
Hanneken blames Ruyle for failing to reduce his speed, for failing to keep a proper lookout and for driving too fast.
Hanneken is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
