Stack

A rear-end collision at an Alton intersection is at the heart of a personal injury case set for trial Monday.

Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack is presiding, according to the court schedule.

Plaintiff Meaghan Kearby, formerly known as Meaghan Wade, is suing Anita Walker for negligence in the 2006 accident.

According to Kearby's complaint, she was in the right turn lane on Fosterberg Road at its intersection with IL Route 140 when Walker rear-ended her.

Kearby claims Walker failed to reduce her speed, failed to keep look out and was negligent in causing the crash and the plaintiff's injuries.

Kearby claims the accident made her sick and injured her back, neck and shoulder. She claims to have also incurred medical bills.

The suit seeks damages in the amount of $50,000 and costs.

The trial is set for 9 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Kearby is represented by Leslie Collins of East Alton.

Walker is represented by Michael Tackett of St. Louis.

The case is Madison case number 08-L-638.
