Man sues unnamed person over unnamed medical condition

A man has filed suit against an unknown person for an alleged medical condition that landed him in the hospital.

Maurice J. Wintermann claims the person, identified in the lawsuit only as John Doe, caused the medical condition that landed him at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.

Wintermann does not specify what medical condition landed him in the hospital or how the medical condition appeared, but does say he sustained disabling injuries.

In the lawsuit Wintermann filed Aug. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court, he named St. Elizabeth's Hospital and Cytology Laboratories as respondents in discovery, allowing him up to six months to find additional evidence against the entities to convert them to co-defendants.

In his lawsuit, Wintermann is seeking a judgment of more than $75,000 and other relief the court deems just.

Christina J. Nielson of O'Brien Law Firm in St. Louis will be representing Wintermann.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-807.
