Neck, back and hand injuries claimed in suit

A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the driver who she says pulled into oncoming traffic and struck the front of her vehicle.

Marquita Hickman-New claims she was driving on St. Clair Avenue when Reginald Warlick, who was driving a vehicle for Prime Inc., entered the flow of traffic on the road and struck the front of Hickman-New's vehicle.

Because of the accident, Hickman-New suffered injuries to her neck, back and hands and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed July 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Warlick negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to sound a warning of his approach, the suit states.

In the two-count suit, Hickman-New is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.

She is represented by Andrew G. Tonnies of Lashly and Baer in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-395.
