Man claims injuries in Kingshighway accident

A man is suing a driver who he says hit the car in which he was riding, causing him to suffer injuries to his right shoulder and back.

James Jones filed a lawsuit July 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Gregory L. Willyerd.

Jones claims he was riding in a vehicle Henry J. Williams was driving south in the 1400 block of Kingshighway on July 18, 2007, near its intersection with Hallows Avenue on July 18, 2007.

Willyerd, who was also driving south on the same road, collided with the car Williams was driving, according to the complaint.

In addition to his injuries, Jones alleges he incurred medical bills and experienced pain and suffering because of the accident.

Willyerd negligently drove his vehicle too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop or slow down and failed to maintain control of his vehicle, the suit states.

Jones is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

William K. Holland and Marshall R. Hoekel of Fox, Goldblatt and Singer of St. Louis will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-365.
