Passenger claims injuries in Bunker Hill accident

An Alton woman says she was seriously injured after the vehicle in which she was riding collided with another automobile.

Delores Schuetz filed a lawsuit June 24 in Madison County Circuit Court against Shayna Dixon.

Schuetz says she was riding as a passenger in a vehicle Dixon was driving west on West Park Street in Bunker Hill on Oct. 6, 2008, at about 6 p.m.

Suddenly, Dixon collided with a vehicle Marlia Burjes was driving south on South Clinton Street, causing Schuetz to incur bruising, crushing and displacing to the bones, ligaments, nerves, muscles and discs of her head, neck and body, according to the complaint.

In addition, Schuetz was hindered from attending to her usual duties and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Dixon negligently failed to yield the right-of-way to Burjes and failed to keep a proper lookout, the complaint says.

Schuetz is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Joseph E. Hoefert of Alton will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-663.
