A woman who says she slipped on water at the Tri Cities Columbus Home has filed suit, saying she injured her cervical spine.

Tammy Williams says she was a patron at the hall on June 15, 2008, when she slipped and fell on water that had accumulated on the floor.

Because of her fall, Williams sustained injury to her cervical spine, including herniated disks at C4-5 and C6-7, and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed June 15 in Madison County Circuit Court. She also says she experienced pain, suffering and a diminution in her quality of life.

Tri Cities Columbus Home failed to maintain its premises in a safe condition, failed to clean water from its floor and failed to warn patrons of the existence of water on the floor, the complaint says.
She will be represented by John H. Leskera of Leskera Law Firm in Collinsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-632.
