Injuries claimed in Edwardsville rear-end accident

Megan Smith of Madison County is suing Carrie Wallace-Lorts of St. Charles County, Mo. over an auto accident that took place June 24, 2007 on Route 157 and University Drive in Edwardsville.

Smith, who was driving northbound on 157, claims Wallace-Lorts, who was also northbound on 157, collided with the rear-end of her vehicle.

According to the complaint filed May 18 in Madison County Circuit Court, Wallace-Lorts drove at a high, dangerous and excessive rate of speed, failed to keep her vehicle under control and failed to have her brakes in proper working order, among other things.

Smith claims she suffered injuries and has incurred medical expenses along with pain and suffering and will incur future expenses and future pain and suffering.

She is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, plus costs.

Smith is represented by Steven Dioneda of Kullmann, Klein & Dioneda in St. Louis.
