I-64 ramp collision is subject of suit

A man has filed suit against another man and woman, alleging he was injured after a collision.

Steve Warren claims he was stopped at a stop light facing north at the intersection of S. Vandeventer and the eastbound I-64 ramp in St. Louis on July 13, 2007, when his 1990 Honda Civic was struck from behind by Pegee Karleascha, who was driving a 1992 Honda Accord, according to the complaint filed April 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

At the same time, Scott Calhoun, who was driving a 2004 Honda Civic in front of Warren, reversed and struck Warren's front bumper, the suit states.

Because of the collision, Warren suffered severe injury, permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement and has been prevented from attending to his usual affairs and duties, the suit states. He also says he has lost wages and income and incurred medical expenses.

According to the complaint, Karleascha and Calhoun were negligent by failing to keep their vehicles under control and by failing to keep a proper lookout.

In the two-count suit, Warren is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs.

He is represented by Thomas Q. Keefe Jr. of Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-197.
