A St. Clair County woman has filed suit on behalf of her minor daughter, alleging she was seriously injured after a Dupo man struck her with his vehicle while she was riding her bike.
Lisa Krell claims her 11-year-old daughter, Page Duck, was riding her bike on State Street in Dupo on July 14, 2007, when Jason Aissie, who was driving on State Street, struck her.
Because of the collision, Duck injured her left lower extremity and left upper extremity, suffered great physical pain and mental anguish and experienced an impaired function of her body parts, according to the complaint filed March 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Krell and Duck incurred medical expenses in excess of $50,000, the suit states.
Aissie was negligent by driving too fast for the circumstances, by failing to keep a lookout and by failing to give any warning of his impending approach, Krell alleges.
In the two-count suit, Krell is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000 and a sum sufficient to reimburse her for medical bills, plus costs.
She will be represented by Earl Hubbs of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis.
