Godfrey collision causes injuries, suit claims

Stacie Geisler has filed suit against Laura D. Allen, alleging she was injured after Allen collided with her.

Geisler was driving north on Martin Luther King Drive at its intersection with Godfrey Road in Godfrey on May 18 at about 11:51 a.m. when Allen, who was driving south on Godfrey Road at the same intersection, made a left turn and hit Geisler's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Feb. 23 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Because of the collision, Geisler was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and suffered extensive injuries to her head, body and limbs, the suit states.

She also claims she received injuries to her neck, back and right hand, incurred medical expenses, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering, and lost money from the loss of wages.

Allen was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, by driving in such a manner to permit her vehicle to strike Geisler's, by failing to properly apply the brakes of her vehicle, by driving at an excessive rate of speed and by driving without being equipped with adequate brakes, according to the complaint.

Geisler is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

She is represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0155.
