Alton accident is subject of suit

A man claims he was injured after an Alton woman failed to follow a traffic control device and collided with him.

Joseph Randle was driving a 1990 Ford F-150 west on Homer Adams Parkway on Nov. 14, 2007, at 9:11 a.m. when Patricia Reeves, who was driving a 1992 Oldsmobile Silhouette south on Morning Star at its intersection with Homer Adams Parkway, entered the intersection when it was not safe to do so and collided with Randle, according to the complaint filed Jan. 30 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Because of the accident, Randle suffered pain of his body and mind, incurred medical expenses and lost sums of money, the suit states.

Randle claims Reeves negligently failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to brake in time to avoid hitting Randle, failed to steer her vehicle to avoid hitting Randle and failed to obey traffic control devices.

Randle is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

Samuel A. Mormino Jr. of Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds and Snider in Alton will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0074.
