A Highland woman has filed suit against a Highland man, alleging she was injured after he hit her as he was backing out of their driveway.

Tonia Asher was walking in the driveway of the home she shared with Shane L. Asher at 2116 Hillcrest Drive on Feb. 10, 2007, when he struck her with his vehicle, according to the complaint filed Jan. 26 in Madison County Circuit Court.

The complaint does not state the relationship between Tonia Asher and Shane Asher.

Because of the collision, Tonia Asher's neck, back, body hips and legs were greatly bruised, crushed and displaced and she was hindered from attending to her usual affairs and duties, the suit states.

In addition, she claims she incurred medical expenses and lost sums of money that would have accrued to her.

Shane L. Asher was negligent because he failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, according to the complaint.

Tonia Asher is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

She is represented by Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0052.
