By Kelly Holleran | Dec 23, 2008

Regions Bank has filed a complaint against Lois Berryman, alleging she failed to pay money she owed the bank under a promissory note.

Berryman executed the note for $100,500 on April 7, 2006, but has failed to make monthly payments since September 2007, according to the complaint filed Dec. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

"As of December 9, 2008, the amount due under the Note is as follows, not including attorneys' fees and costs incurred: principal balance -- $97,096.41; accrued interest -- $11,376.65; late charges -- $761.51; TOTAL -- $109,234.57," the suit states. "Interest continues to accrue at a rate of $23.59982 per day."

In addition to the balance due, Regions Bank is seeking attorneys' fees, costs and other relief the court determines just.

It is represented by Deborah J. Volmert of Hanna and Volmert in Belleville.
