Two Madison County residents have filed suit against a St. Clair County resident, alleging they were seriously injured after a collision.

LaKesia Emerson and Kerry Roberts were traveling on Illinois Route 203 near its intersection with Ohio Avenue in Madison County on March 29 when Bradley Dawson crossed his lane and collided with the side of the vehicle in which the women were riding, according to a complaint filed Nov. 18 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Emerson's neck, back and head were seriously bruised, contused, lacerated, cut, torn, swollen, aggravated, ruptured, mashed, wrenched, narrowed, compressed, subluxed, abraded, dislocated, strained, sprained and rendered stiff, sore and painful, the suit states.

Roberts claims her neck, bilateral shoulders and eye were bruised, contused, lacerated, cut, torn, swollen, aggravated, ruptured, mashed, wrenched, narrowed, compressed, subluxed, abraded, dislocated, strained, sprained and rendered stiff, sore and painful.

In addition to their injuries, Emerson and Roberts suffered physical pain and mental anguish, permanent and progressive injuries and an impairment and diminishment of parts of their body, the suit states.

Both women also incurred medical expenses, they claim.

Dawson was negligent because he drove too fast, failed to keep a lookout, failed to warn of his approach and crossed into the lane in which Emerson and Roberts were traveling, according to the complaint.

In the two-count suit, Emerson and Roberts are seeking $100,000, plus costs.

Ronald Caimi of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis will be representing them.
