Cynthia A. Murphy has filed suit against Danielle N. Deucker, alleging she was injured after Deucker rear-ended her.

Murphy was driving her 2004 Pontiac Bonneville west at the intersection of Homer Adams Parkway and Washington Avenue in Madison County in the center lane of traffic on Nov. 14, 2006, according to a complaint filed Nov. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court.

At the same time, Deucker was driving her 2005 Ford Escape when she collided with the back of Murphy's Bonneville, the suit states.

In addition to her injuries, Murphy claims she endured pain and suffering and incurred medical costs.

Deucker was negligent because she failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or slow down to avoid a collision and failed to keep a proper lookout, according to the complaint.

Murphy is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

Edward W. Unsell of East Alton will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-1046.
