Accident injuries subject of suit

Darlene Clark has filed suit against Mark Pendergrass, claiming she received neck, back and abdomen injuries after his vehicle collided with hers.

Pendergrass was driving his car south on 86th Street on Sept. 10, 2007, and attempting to make a right-hand turn at the road's intersection with an alley, according to the complaint filed Oct. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

While making the turn, Pendergrass collided with Clark's vehicle, the suit states.

In addition to her injuries, Clark claims she suffered high blood pressure, great physical pain and mental anguish and that her ability to work has been greatly impaired because of the accident.

She also claims the function of her neck, back and abdomen has been diminished.

Clark has become responsible for medical costs of more than $50,000 because of the collision, the suit states.

Pendergrass was negligent because he drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to warn of his approach and collided with Clark's vehicle while making his right-hand turn, according to the complaint.

Clark is seeking unspecified damages and other relief the court deems appropriate.

Ronald Caimi of Brown & Crouppen in St. Louis will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-513.
