Albert W. Oertel, Jr., has filed suit against Red Apple Restaurant, alleging he was injured after he slipped on water.
Represented by John H. Leskera of Collinsville, Oertel claims he fell on water that had accumulated on the floor of the men's bathroom on Jan. 7.
Oertel claims he tore the rotator cuff of his right shoulder and had to pay medical costs as a result of the fall.
He also claims he has and will continue to experience pain and suffering, lost wages and a diminished quality of life.
He claims Red Apple Restaurant was negligent because it failed to clean up water that had accumulated on the floor, failed to place a floor mat in the restroom, failed to place a wet floor sign up, and failed to install slid resistant tile in the bathroom.
Oertel is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit.
