Gary L. Dryden of O'Fallon is suing Jack Schmitt Lincoln Mercury of Collinsville over an accident that occurred two years ago on Old Collinsville Road in Caseyville.
Dryden claims that a Jack Schmitt Ford F-150 truck and trailer, operated by William Wicklein, came into his southbound lane of travel causing a collision with his motorcycle.
"The front impact caused Gary L. Dryen, Jr. to be crushed and rendered him unconscious and in need of emergency medical treatment," states the complaint filed Aug. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
His suit names Jack Schmitt Ford, Inc. and Wicklein as defendants.
Dryden seeks in excess of $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost income and permanent disability. The suit claims he suffered head, face, leg, arm and hip injuries.
His wife, Jodi Dryden, also seeks damages in excess of $50,000 in damages for loss of consortium.
"The vehicle operated by Wicklein blocked the southbound lane of Old Collinsville Road forcing Mr. Dryden to take evasive action upon seeing the vehicle operated by Wicklein in his lane of traffic," the complaint states.
The Drydens are represented by Justin M. Whitton of the Whitton Group in Belleville.
