Power washing business sued by man who slips on water

An O'Fallon Wal-Mart cart pusher is suing a power washer business for injuries he sustained slipping on water.

According to a lawsuit filed June 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Vincent Lewis claims he fractured his right ankle during the course of his employment outside the store entrance after he fell on Nov. 8, 2007.

The suit names L&M Supervac, Inc. as defendant, a company which provided contractual services to the O'Fallon store.

Lewis claims L&M Supervac is negligent for power washing the entrance of the store without simultaneously vacuuming the area to remove excess water. He also claims the business is negligent for failing to warn individuals inside the store of the water hazard existing outside the store entrance.

Represented by Matthew R. Chapman of Becker, Schroader & Chapman of Granite City, Lewis is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, plus costs of the suit.
