Dan Meyer filed a personal injury suit against the Granite City Save-A-Lot alleging he was injured by an employee's negligence.

According to a suit filed in Madison County Circuit Court Jan. 15, Meyer was delivering merchandise to the store located at 2600 Nameoki Road on Jan. 26, 2006. He claims he was assisting a female employee who was using a pallet jack when her negligence led to a right shoulder injury.

Meyer alleges Save-A-Lot negligently and carelessly failed to properly train its employees in the safe method or proper use of a pallet jack.

He also alleges the store failed to properly supervise employees using a pallet jack and failed to provide an adequate number of trained employees required for the proper use of the jack.

Represented by Robert Jones of Brown & Crouppen of St. Louis, Meyer claims his shoulder injury has caused him to incur an "undetermined amount" of medical expenses.

He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David Hylla
